Montessori Program

As an American Montessori Society (AMS) member school, Charlotte Academy’s classrooms put into practice the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori. Our trained and certified teachers prepare the classroom environment and implement Montessori methodology through instruction with Montessori materials. The Preprimary program (ages 3 to 6) fosters each student’s emotional, physical, intellectual, creative and social levels of development.

The Lower Elementary program (grades 1-3) builds upon this foundation to promote self-motivation and a love of learning. The Lower elementary Montessori curriculum is comprised of language arts, mathematics, cultural studies, life and physical sciences, computers, art, music, and physical education. On average, students in the second and third grades score multiple grade levels above on the Stanford Achievement Test.
